I typically make dimensional “sketches” while I’m working on larger pieces, then destroy them after the larger piece is finished. Sketches is a series that came about when Kara Skylling asked me to contribute some work for her Nothing is Itself show at the Mine Factory in Pittsburgh. I didn’t have anything ready, but I suggested I could put together some sketches in time for her show. This series features arrangements of paper houses loosely based on streets from the area where I grew up.
